Car Rental in Surin
Surin is a short beach with expensive villas on the slopes and a calm atmosphere. There are few roads here, parking by the sea is limited, and most houses sit above beach level. We deliver to your villa, including the driveways up on the hills that are awkward to walk up.

Surin is small: a bay, a couple of streets of restaurants, houses on the hill. Beach parking is narrow and full in season — the winner is whoever arrived before eleven or took a shorter car.
The roads up to the villas on the hill are tidy but steep. An SUV is calmer here, especially if several people with luggage are staying in the house.
It is a convenient place to drive from: Bang Tao with its shops and Boat Avenue is five minutes away, Kamala ten, the airport about half an hour on a good road.
In low season there is a strong current in the bay and fewer people come to the beach. The parking question then solves itself.
The villas above Surin sit on a road where two cars cannot pass everywhere. Meeting oncoming traffic means reversing — on a narrow bend that is an exercise of its own for a newcomer.
If you are coming for a while, the car is usually taken for the whole stay at once: the monthly rate is noticeably lower than the daily one, and the area works badly without one.
How Surin is laid out
Surin beach is small, and the whole life of the area runs along one coast road. The villas stand on the slopes on both sides of the bay, with narrow private driveways at a serious gradient between them.
North the road runs to the cape and on to Bang Tao; south to Kamala. Both directions are flat and well surfaced — there are no mountain bends in Surin itself.
There are few internal streets, and almost all of them go up. That is the main thing to weigh when choosing a car: the driveways are steep and often turn at the end.
Parking by the beach
There are not many spaces by the sea: a short row along the road and a couple of small bays. In high season they are taken during the day and you end up parking further up the slope and walking down.
The restaurants and beach clubs have their own car parks, usually free for guests. That is the easiest option if you are planning a few hours at the beach.

- There is a lot of no-parking marking along the coast road — read the kerb
- On the slopes always leave it in gear with the handbrake on
- Do not block private villa driveways, even empty ones
- After rain the verges by the sea are soft, better to stand on asphalt
Which car to take in Surin
If you are staying on a slope, an SUV is the sensible choice: the villa driveways are steep, and pulling away uphill with a full car is a convenience rather than a luxury. Plus the clearance: lips and bumps on private driveways are a regular occurrence.
For a place right on the road an economy car is enough. The distances to the neighbouring areas are short, the roads are flat, and a big car gives you nothing extra.
A minivan suits a group, but check the width of the driveway before delivery — at some villas it was built for a passenger car, not a long body.
СоветSend us the name of the villa or the project before you book: we will look at the driveway and tell you which car will fit. That is cheaper than swapping the car on day two.
What is nearby
Surin sits conveniently between two well-served areas. North is Bang Tao with two shopping centres, supermarkets and a weekend market, ten minutes away. South is Kamala with its market and quiet beach, the same again.
The airport is close by west coast standards: about half an hour on the road through Thalang. That helps both on arrival and on departure.
Patong is half an hour from here through Kamala and over the pass. For an evening trip out to dinner or the market that is a comfortable distance.
Traffic and the seasons
There is little traffic in Surin all year round. It only picks up by the beach clubs in the evening in high season, when everyone arrives for the sunset.
In the rainy season parts of the coast road flood briefly. The water drains fast, but do not drive through standing water at speed — there can be potholes underneath.
From May to October the surf at Surin is strong and flags go up along the beach. It makes no difference to the driving, but swimming in those months is better planned on the east side of the island.
ВажноThe descents from the villas on the slopes are short but steep. Setting off with a full car, check that the handbrake is fully released: on a gradient you do not notice it straight away.
Частые вопросы
Do you deliver the car to a villa on a slope?
Yes, including narrow private driveways. Send us the name of the villa or the project — we will look at the approach in advance and pick a car of the right size.
How long from Surin to the airport?
About 30 minutes through Thalang. It is one of the shortest airport runs on the west coast.
Do I need an SUV?
If your place is on the hill, yes, it will be noticeably easier. If you are staying right on the road, an economy car is enough.
Is it easy to park at Surin beach?
There are few spaces by the sea and in season they are taken during the day. It is easier to use the car parks of the restaurants and beach clubs.
Which is closer, Bang Tao or Kamala?
Both are ten minutes away, but in opposite directions. Bang Tao gives you shopping centres and supermarkets; Kamala a quiet beach and a market.
