Ao Sane is a small rocky beach north-west of Nai Harn, reached by a short but narrow hillside road. From Nai Harn Beach, it is about 1.5 km by road and a few minutes' drive. The final approach has tight bends and a steep descent, so check whether a car space is available before committing to it.
What that means for the car
A small car suits the narrow approach to Ao Sane; a minivan or large SUV is awkward. From the north end of Nai Harn Beach, pass the entrance to The Nai Harn resort. The next roughly 600–700 m twists along the hillside, passes a small security gate and descends steeply.

Where to park

A short, steep concrete path leads from the road down to Ao Sane's sand. The beach is free to enter.
The swim and the season
Ao Sane's rocky seabed is good for snorkelling, but the water deepens quickly and does not suit small children. The beach has a simple restaurant and no sunbed rentals.
Water is mostly calm with good visibility from November to April. From May to October, west-coast surf and rip currents change the conditions. A red flag means no swimming.
