Everyday supplies come from Thalang, inland, where there are supermarkets, pharmacies and fuel. Make that a weekly run rather than daily fragments, because each trip goes over the hill in both directions.
The hill road, every day for a month
The approach from north and south climbs over the headlands through tight bends with a drop on one side, and it is surfaced the whole way. Oncoming traffic includes vans and delivery trucks that use the whole of their lane and a little of yours.
Brake before the bend rather than in it: on a road that falls away to the outside, braking mid-bend pushes the car wide at exactly the wrong moment. In the wet the same corners collect mud and grit washed off the slope and stay slick long after the rain stops. Do not stop on the hill road for the view; use the marked pull-in above the bay on the road towards Bang Tao.

Nai Thon sits on the northern road between Layan and Nai Yang. Layan is the next beach south, about 6 km and ten minutes away, and its villas sit on short, steep driveways where an SUV is easier.
The drives over the headlands are worth doing for their own sake, and a month gives time to do them in good light. Stop only at the marked viewpoint above the bay on the road towards Bang Tao, never on the edge of the hill road.
Ending the month
The airport is close, so most monthly rentals here end at the terminal on the day you fly. The drive out starts with the hill road, and that is not a stretch to hurry on a morning with a plane to catch.
